More about CFL Sundays

CFL Sundays is an exciting project which came out of a fantastic competition, which we ran with primary aged school in Leeds during 2017.  The aim of the competition was to listen to the voice of the children in the city and gather their ideas about ways to make the city centre  more appealing to them.  Ten winning ideas were submitted and we have been linking with our wonderful ambassador network to make the winning ideas become a reality!

Rumani, one of our competition winners, dreamt of creating fabulous play spaces in the city centre, where she and her friends could hang out together and have fun.  The retail network have joined forces with the library, the city museum and the Tetley, as well as variety of Child Friendly Leeds ambassador organisations to create a range of exciting and free projects, which are aimed at children and their families.

A key aim of the project, is to encourage children to be outside, be active and experience new things.  For example, children can learn circus skills, handle birds of prey, visit a huge T-Rex model, develop their dancing skills, be thrilled by animated story telling and taste new cuisines.

We are very proud of the way that the Child Friendly Leeds ambassador network creatively responded to  the challenge lay before them and grateful to the White Rose centre for offering a project to any people in South Leeds, who can’t make it into town on a Sunday.
